The author traces the history of cutwork embroidery and appliqué from many countries with most emphasis on the Kuna mola work. A resident of Wales, she and her husband have visited the islands many times and have many Kuna friends. While staying with a mutual Kuna friend, he asked me to write a Christmas note to her from his family. This was my first contact with this couple who became my friends also.
