The Coso Range of Callifornia contains some of the most extraordinary concentrations of petroglyphs of the West. Campbell Grant, a research associate at the Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History, artist, illustrator and teacher with his strong interest in rock art has authored other books. James W. Baird and J. Kenneth Pringle, scientists with the Naval Weapons Center at China Lake where these petroglyphs are located, carried out the survey explorations and cave excavations.
