54" x 54"

My favorite day in Guatemala was spent in the village of Solola. In this quilt I tried to show the brown and white checkered wrap apron worn by the men and the indigo stripe fabric with the multi colored randa woven and worn by women of that region. I also enjoyed the vivid stripe fabrics worn in shirts. I tried to more or less suggest the ikat yarns used for weaving by using striped and dotted fabrics. This quilt hangs in my "Central America" bedroom.
